Mark Patch (Principal & Director)
Mark is a professional consultant with over 30 years of experience in strategic management, leadership, and assurance of high-risk and high-value initiatives in the public and private sectors. He has demonstrated strengths in the disciplines of portfolio, program and project management, business analysis, change management, procurement, contract management risk management, and sustainability.
Mark is a highly experienced Gateway Review Team Leader who, since 2007, has led or participated in over 120 assurance reviews and health checks for high-value, high-risk public projects for various Queensland state government departments, the Western Australian, South Australian, Tasmanian, Victorian and New South Wales state governments, and the Australian and New Zealand governments.
Mark retired from the Australian Defence Force as a Brigadier in 2006 after a 31-year career in Army Aviation, the last eight years of which as a Director General within the Defence Materiel Organisation. He has worked co-operatively and successfully with a diverse range of clients and associates across all levels of government, industry sectors, nations, and cultures.
Mark provides project management consultancy support to public and private organisations, working with senior executives to develop, improve and implement portfolio, program, and project management frameworks, including training and assessment.

In 2021-22 he led a team to review and transform project management practices at Toowoomba Regional Council. This work was based on work completed by a team led by Mark who, in 2016 developed and implemented a complete project management framework for the Council consistent with the Local Government Act 2009 (Qld) and Local Government Regulations 2012 (Qld) to support consistent delivery of the broad range of portfolios, programs and projects.
In 2017 he led a team that facilitated major structural reform of project management within Brisbane Airport Corporation, including implementing a portfolio level within the airport’s project management framework.
He also leads teams to review the organisational project management maturity of private and public organisations.
Mark has been a certified RegPM assessor with the Australian Institute of Project Management for over 20 years supporting project managers in their professional development. He further supports the profession through his role as a mentor for a number of junior project managers.
Mark continues to develop and deliver training in project management, contract management, procurement, and requirements management (systems engineering) for a number of private and government clients and is an adjunct lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland.
Mark is a highly experienced company board member and chairman. He is currently chair of two NFP charities that support the underprivileged and a director of two other companies.
